Payment Methods
Rodavia connects you with local rental suppliers across Fiji. The payment process involves two stages: an advance booking payment you make online when reserving, and a balance payment directly to the rental company at pickup. What you pay and when depends on the supplier's policy, which your voucher spells out in full.
Advance Booking Payment
When you confirm a reservation through Rodavia, you pay an advance online. This secures your booking and covers part of the total. We accept international credit cards issued by Visa and Mastercard. The transaction processes in the currency shown at checkout, and your voucher will state exactly what the advance covered.
Balance Payment at Pickup
The remaining amount goes directly to the rental supplier when you collect the vehicle at their counter in Nadi, Suva, Denarau, or wherever your pickup is. Each company sets its own accepted methods. Some take debit cards; others prefer cash in Fijian dollars. A handful accept credit cards for the balance as well. Your voucher lists which methods that particular supplier handles, so check it before you arrive.
Deposit at the Counter
Rental companies in Fiji typically ask for a security hold on a credit card at pickup. This is separate from the rental payment itself. The hold amount and whether they accept debit cards for it varies by supplier and the cover option you chose. Again, your voucher explains the deposit requirements and release timing for your specific booking.
Currency and Cards
Advance payments online process in the currency displayed during booking. At the counter, suppliers work in Fijian dollars. If you're paying cash for the balance, withdraw FJD beforehand; ATMs are available at Nadi International and in town centres. Debit card acceptance differs between suppliers, so confirm in your voucher rather than assuming.
